Paste your notes as they are: bullet points, shorthand, half sentences, a list of facts from a phone call. Say what they should turn into, such as an email or a paragraph for a report, and how it should sound. Hemmingway writes every point out as a full sentence and puts them in an order that reads naturally.
It expands the wording, not the content. No example, reason, figure or feeling is added that was not in your notes. That means the result is only as long as what you gave it. If you need more length, the honest way is more notes.
What makes it work
- Put every fact in, however roughly. "Seal cracked, replaced same day, no charge" is enough. Spelling and grammar do not matter at this stage.
- Say what it is becoming. The same notes read differently as an email to a tenant, a line in a report or a message to a friend.
- Do not ask for a word count. Asking any AI to reach a length it has no material for is how padding and invented detail get in. Add notes instead.
An example
Given the notes "boiler serviced 12 May, engineer found cracked seal, replaced same day, no charge under warranty, next service May next year", to become a short email to a tenant, friendly and brief, a text along these lines is what to expect:
Hi,
The boiler was serviced on 12 May. The engineer found a cracked seal and replaced it the same day, at no charge because it is under warranty. The next service is due in May next year.

Common questions
Is the text expander free?
Yes. Hemmingway has a free trial with no card needed, and this tool opens it with your answers filled in. You sign up once, and the full text is written in the chat.
Will it add information I did not give it?
No. It is told to write out what is in your notes and nothing else. Read the result against your notes anyway, and take out anything that arrived uninvited: a reason you did not give, a "delighted" you did not feel.
Can it make my essay longer?
It will write your points out in full, which often adds length, but it will not invent material to fill a word count. A longer essay needs more of your own points and evidence. It is for your own notes, not for passing off someone else's work as yours, and if the essay is for school, check the rules on AI first.
Will it sound like AI?
It is built not to. Hemmingway-1, the model behind it, came first on sounding like a person in our own blind test, Human-Likeness. It still helps to read it aloud and change any word you would not use.
What if I have no notes, only an idea?
