A good morning text is one or two lines that tell someone they were on your mind when you woke up. The good ones mention something real: what they have on today, something from last night's conversation, a joke only the two of you share. They are short, and they do not ask for anything back.
Below are examples for a girlfriend or wife, a boyfriend or husband, someone you have just started seeing, friends and family. The "for her" and "for him" split is there because that is how people search. Almost every line works for anyone once you change the details.
What makes a good one
- It is about today. "Good luck with the presentation" beats "have a great day", because it could only have been sent to them, this morning.
- It is short. They are half awake and getting ready. One or two lines.
- It does not need an answer. A morning text is a small gift, not a question they must reply to before work.
- It sounds like you. If you never say "my darling" out loud, do not start at 7am by text.

When to skip it
- Every single day, word for word. A copied "good morning beautiful" at 7.01 each day turns into wallpaper. Send fewer, and make them about something.
- When you have had no reply to the last few. Do not send a fourth. If someone is not answering, more messages will not change that.
- When they have asked for space. Space includes mornings.
- To make someone feel guilty. "Good morning, since you obviously forgot" is not a good morning text.
- To someone you barely know. A daily greeting from a near stranger feels like pressure. Have a real conversation first.
