List a few true things about yourself, the more exact the better: your job, what you do on a Sunday, the dish you are known for, the name of your cat. It does not add hobbies, travel or a sense of adventure you did not mention, because a profile that is not you leads to a first date with someone who came to meet somebody else. You paste the bio into the app yourself.
What makes a bio work
- Facts, not adjectives. "Funny" is a claim. "Ran the same 5k for three years and never got faster" shows it.
- Leave a hook. One detail that invites a question gives people an easy first message. A bio with no hook gets "hey".
- Say what you want, as a yes. "Looking for something long-term" helps the right person choose you. A list of what you do not want reads as a warning.

A bio that sits under your photos should be a few lines and end on the hook. If your app uses prompts, as Hinge does, paste the prompt you picked into the app box and it writes an answer to that. Use different facts for each prompt so your answers do not repeat each other.
