It cannot see the profile. It only knows what you type, and it claims nothing about you that you did not give it.
What makes an opener work
A pickup line, or chat up line, works when it could only have been sent to that one person. A stock line tells them you sent it to everyone.
- Go for the odd detail. The dog in the first photo gets plenty of comments. The strange mug on the shelf behind it gets none.
- Make it easy to answer. "Did you grow it?" gets a reply. "You seem interesting" gives them nothing to say back.
- Stay off their looks. A remark about a face or a body from a stranger rarely starts a conversation, and the tool is told to leave it out.

When the profile gives you nothing
Describe what is in one photo, such as a place, a plate of food or a band T-shirt, and ask for a question about that. If there really is nothing, a plain "Hi, how is your week going?" is more honest than a clever line about nothing.
